Cupcakes everywhere

The fall season of shows is here and it is hard to keep up with everything that is going on. I attended the Creativ Festival and the Delicious Food Show in October and thought I would share with you some of the nice things I have seen.

The Creativ Festival is a must-do for anyone who likes sewing, knitting, embroidering, making jewelry and other creative works. If you are allergic to big crowds and cannot stand people who push, shove and elbow others while shopping, you might want to reconsider giving this show a try. At the end of the day, it all depends on how bad you want this cute cow buttons that would go so well with your new sweater.

Amid a sea of accessories and fabrics I came across beautiful edible creations made by members of the Canadian Society of Sugar Artistry (www.cssainc.ca)

At the Delicious Food Show it is all about looking and sampling. Mostly sampling to be completely honest with you. It is all business, though, I promise. I have to test the products in order to advise my clients and I take this task extremely seriously. Because it can sometimes get overwhelming I usually bring help. Who knew cupcakes came in that many flavours? ChocoStyle (www.chocostyle.ca) even allows you to combine your love for chocolate with your love for shoes.

Roses are red, etc.

When looking for inspiration, nature is one my favourite places. Mother Nature is so generous that she always comes up with something new: a new creation, a new colour, a new shade, a new form, a new texture… Who needs Photoshop when we have Mother Nature?

Next time you feel like getting something exotic, colourful, and that smells oh so good, whether it is for your living room – treat yourself to a nice bouquet every once in a while -, for your office, for somebody special, for your next party or even for your wedding, think about these roses brought to you by you know who.

“Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature.”

~Gerard de Nerval
